carrying handle replacement

I have a 1975 9.9 hps johnson that I need to replace the carrying handle on. It broke in half when I tried to pick the motor up off the ground. I have obtained a new handle for the motor already. Is there any one that has had to replace a handle on their johnson / evinrude small motor that could direct me in this operation?
