Fuel Ratio '90 Johnson 8HP

Picked up 8 Johnson with original handbook. Says, "after break-in period at 50:1, use 100:1- gas and oil". Is this a misprint? Should I stick with typical 50:1 to be safe?

It is not a misprint; it is a mistake made by the OMC engineers in the late 1980's and early 90's. They pushed minimal oiling too far and, as a result, we were having warranty claims for scored pistons. By all means, stick with 50:1 ratio.
