johnson 33 hp lower unit

I have a 33 long shaft and am wondering how hard and expensive it would be to change it to a short shaft . And would any other models work if I can't find a 33 short shaft. Thanks btw I'm new here so any help would be appreciated.

Probably have to change drive shaft and shift shaft.

If I can find the parts , is this something I could do ? I'm pretty good about repairing things but I never really got in to an outboard much.
