I have a 1990 Tracker PF16 with a 40 HP 1990 Johnson motor. When cranking, motor want idle after started. Prior to this problem, the last time I ran the motor was about 10 months ago (maybe longer). I had some concerns about the old fuel in the carburetor's, so I drained the bowls and sprayed some Gum Out carburetor cleaner in them to flush them out before starting. Fuel used was 97 octane / ethanol with Quick Silver oil for 50/1 ratio. Motor accelerates and run good at medium to high throttle if I can engage it fast enough after started. My problem seems to be sitting at idle, it wants to shut off. My gas tank and primer bulb is fairly new. Put new spark plugs in about a year ago. Is it possible that I need to rebuild my carb's due to the old fuel?
