'83 35 Johnson carb

I'm converting a push button start with manual choke to a key start and push to choke.I sourced a carb/choke solenoid assembly but here's the deal the fuel inlet on the bowl is smaller than the one on the manual choke carb. 5/16" vs 1/4". The fuel pump has 5/16" inlet and outlet. What's the work around if there is one? The fuel line that would fit the carb end won't firnthe pump end.

The small Yamaha fuel hose will stretch enough to go on 5/16 barb and on 1/4 barb, might check with your local dealer to see if will sell you a short section of hose.
