Retrofit Regulator/rectifier on a 88Hp 1993

Hi

I´m new to this forum and hoping someone can help me with a question.

I have a 88Hp spl from -93, J88MSLETE, this engine is fitted with a rectifier. I´m now wondering if it is possible to retrofit a regulator/rectifier to my engine.
I´ve red that the 90Hp spl -93, has a reg/rect fitted from start, and this engine is the same as mine.

Does anyone know if this is possible, and if so, can I expect to run into any other problems?
