I have a j115tlesb. and an older 115 not sure exact year. i want to place them on a 24 foot cabin cruiser i am rebuilding. Can either be set up as counter rotation?

Yes you can use two right rotation motors on a boat, may have some steering torque but if have hydraulic steering wouldn't be a problem.
