My Johnson 150 hp would not start and local dealer put his computer on and said it was the rectifier/regulator. Ordered the part from Boats.net and after it was installed the motor would not fire.
I recommend taking it back to the dealer who diagnosed the problem. Rectifier/regulators won't keep an engine from firing, just not charging the battery.
