The woodruff key for the impeller keeps wearing out rather quickly. The last one lasted about 7 months, maybe about five hours maximum use.
I just installed another key (the new impeller wouldn't even fit over the key) and reused the second impeller which still looks new. I rebuilt the carbs for a starting issue. The motor starts alright now but the motor stopped pumping water during the testing today after less than an hour of use in two days! It had a very strong "pee" stream before I stopped the motor then when I restarted it, no pee stream. I had the lower unit in a 55 gallon plastic barrel FULL OF WATER. I haven't dropped the lower unit yet, but I'm guessing the key has worn out again. What the heck is going on?
