1977 70hp Johnny not firing

I cannot get my 70hp to fire, I am not getting spark at the spark plugs either, is my next step to replace the power pack? and then ill be able to see if the coils are out or not? What would be your path to fixing this motor?

Thanks for any and all help, just tryin to do some fishin.

I can't imagine all three coils would fail simultaneously. You might try checking the voltage from the powerpack to the coil just to see if the pp is doing anything... correctly. There's the power pack, then the other strip like power pack thing. I don't know it's correct name. You might look at that too to see if you are getting correct voltage activity while it's turning over. It could be as simple as just corrosion at a contact too.
