I recently purchased two gear oil drain/fill plugs and o-rings (part #'s 28-0307551 & 28-0333572 respectively) from the boats.net parts site.
Once I received the parts, discovered that the new plugs actually come with nylon washers on them (plus they are hex, not slotted like my old/original ones).
Questions are:
1) Do I need to remove the nylon washers and put the rubber o-rings on the new plugs, or just use the nylon washers that came with them (again on a 1988 model J15RLCCS)?
2) Just want to confirm, that the rubber 0-rings must still be available for the older slotted type plugs (if you do not upgrade to the new plugs)?
Thanks!
