It won't start!

I have an '84 25 hp Johnson. I had to rebuild the starter. I put a new base on starter with brushes. When I turned the key...nothing. I thought it was maybe the starter solenoid...put new one on...still nothing. No click, no nothing. Battery fully charged, out of gear, kill switch clip intact, fuse on red wire coming from solenoid replaced. Please help! Any ideas?

Use a volt meter and start at the battery and check the system. You have an open circut somewhere.
