9.9 sailmaster

I have a new to me Sailmaster 9.9 with a extra long shaft which I used for the first time today and I notice some brown oily stuff coming out of the exhaust holes just above the cavitation plate. I checked the lower unit oil and it was in good shape with no milky color at all.

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks Just in time. So maybe my mix is not right? The spark plugs were black and wet looking.
