The more I work on this engine, the more I like it
I'll soon be in a position to start it for the first time after installing a new throttle cable, new spark plugs, carby overhaul kit, fuel pump overhaul kit and water pump overhaul kit. I'll be using a large bin with the leg submerged in fresh water for the first start or two.
But the Operator's Guide (found on the internet) is an interesting read. It describes flushing the outboard via the flushing port as shown in the attached pic. I was surprised to read this can be done with the engine running.
This seems like a good idea and I'm sure Mr OMC knows more than me about such things. But how many use this strategy to flush their outboards after use?
