I was using some NGK equivalent plugs for the last year or so, and was replacing them every 3 months. Was also using a different NGK plug in my lawnmower and started blowing them up after a week or so of use, so I figured I'd look around due to NGK, Jap quality going to shit as it seemed to be the case. Wonder if the Japs are having these made in China. What a concept!

So I went to my Johnson service manual and found that Champion QL78YC plugs are recommended. I ran the boat yesterday on the boat yesterday on the Champion plugs and they made a huge difference. Better hole shot, idling and all around performance. I am going to check on how much gas I used as I ran a long time and distance.

    Enjoy!

I once encountered a fellow in a hardware store that during a conversation mentioned that for years he installed wall to wall carpet. We became friends. One day I bought wall to wall carpet for my house and recalled what he said. I hired him for the installation job.

I was amazed at how fast he could figure cuts, heat join sections, etc... and his workman ship was outstanding. I asked him how he became so proficient. His reply was...............

"You gotta read the book!".......... You should've read it first!

Well I just got the book last week, put the new plugs in and ran it the first time I could, so I DID read the book. Knowledge is power and you did not have it all!
