I recently changed the water pump on my 95 48hp SPL and I have water coming out of what I think is an unusual spot. It is coming out of where the lower end meets the upper end where the shift shaft is visible. (I tried to attach a picture and I don't know if it is correctly attached) There is a good strong stream coming from the tattle tail and idled motor for about ten minutes with no problem. Please let me know if this is nothing to be concerned about or do I have to pull the lower end out again because I messed up. Thank you in advance for any assistance!

Nothing to worry about. That's a metal to metal meeting surface which leaks after a repair involving removal of the lower unit. It'll clog up with marine debris pretty quick... or you can drop the unit 1/4" and use this sealer if the leakage bothers you.
OMC Adhesive is now Bombardier 3M Product #847 and may be listed as Scotchgrip 847, part number 776964 or "Loctite #518".

The water isn't coming out of that seam but just above that through space where the shift rod is visible and the lowest part of the steering pivot is. There is a void there and what looks like a weep whole. It isn't bothering me at all just don't want it to bother my motor as she can be a pain in the neck literally 😄. Thank you for the reply!
