Lightning gearcase vs Magnum gearcase - HELP
NEVERMIND ....
My 2000 225HO finally blew up the lower unit.. (J225HGLSSC).. I cannot find a new or rebuilt lightning gear case...(mine has 2 small holes).. I have found a magnum gear case (without the speedo hole). It has a 1 year warranty. YEA!
My question is what do I need to do to install this magnum gear case? What adverse effects will I see in this lower unit? IS it stronger? Will I lose speed/rpm with the same jackplate settings?
[COLOR="Blue"]Also.. what is the shift rod length setting? [/COLOR] YES>>> I found a rebuilt lightning gear case from Gary at Texas Outboards....w/ 1 yr. warranty and painted to match.!!!!
