  • 1992 Johnson 120

I have a 92 Johnson 120 that won't start. It's getting fuel and has spark. Compression is about 105-110. Any ideas?

Has the flywheel been off lately.... sheared flywheel key?

If so, the flywheel nut wasn't torqued to factory specifications.

If you have fuel, spark, and compression, it's got to run.

do you know what the torque is suppose to be? the boat is a trade in to the shop i work at so there is no manuals. and we dont know what works been done or whats bee attempted. we replaced the fuel lines and everything like that and had it running with the help of starting fluid.

I don't have the book either... BUT... if that model has the large crankshaft taper, similar to say the 200/225 loopers, the torque would be 145 foot pounds. Best to check with your local dealership though.
