Hey guys, I have a 1997 Venom 200 and I'm thinking about upgrading to 225 carburetors. Is this just changing out the carbs, or will I need to change out the throttle plate as well? Is it worth the effort? Thanks guys!

Hey Paul.. first find out what size (venturi's) the two different carb's have... if they are the same or within a millimeter or two it will NOT be worth the minimal gains! The venturi (or throttle body opening) controls how much AIR comes into the engine. The jets just regulate the amount of gas that is PROPERLY mixed with the set amount of air. if the ports/compression ratio,bore-stroke are the same size the gains will be even less noticeable. If you would happen to get a very noticeable horsepower gain you are then looking at a new prop to handle the increased RPM=POWER.
Horsepower costs money.. how fast can you afford to go..??
