I have a 97 50hp 2 cylinder Johnson. The oil side of the VRO had issues earlier this year and was disabled. I am still using the VRO fuel pump, but the oil side was plugged and now I am running premix 50-1 in a 6 gallon tank. Back in the "old days" we used to always run the fuel out of the engine at the end of the day. but that motor didn't have the VRO pump and it was so old we even ran the pre-mix at 25-1, (it was a long time ago). I think you're not supposed to do that with a fully functional VRO system, but what if the oiler side is disabled (like mine)? will it hurt the VRO pump, or the engine itself to run it dry? It ran great last time out, just want to do what I can to keep it that way.
I do run "Stable" fuel stabilizer in every tank of gas.
