I have what I believe is a 1975 Johnson 115hp outboard. Just procured. I had the following done, new water pump, new hoses, thermostats removed, carbs rebuilt... After this, I've taken it in the water twice!, the mother runs great, except, at full throttle, it feels and I'm sure, it's only going half speed.. After running on the water for a few minutes, it starts to "lurch" forward, with speed and a better, higher tone, speed, only for a second or two.. Other then that, it idles great and runs nice in neutral... I have done some research and I find that I should check the filter(s), I can't find one on the motor, also I see there is "room" to adjust the throttle tension to move the throttle arm more in order, to what I believe, would help this issue??
My second issue is, reverse, when I pull the throttle into reverse, it doesn't ingauge, when I look under the cowl(?) I can "push" on the reverse arm, kinda, into the motor, it I gauges, but only then, I can't get it to work via the throttle.
Please help a newbe trying to get his motor up to par!!
Thank you very much! Cj
