Hi all,
I picked up a 1970s 14' Galaxy tri haul with an 1984 70HP Johnson outboard.
I am tring to figure out the proper orifice sizes for the carbs. The carb diagrams I have seen list more than 1 size. I understand the high speed orifice is in the front of the float bowl. But there are 2 other orifices both labeled low speed/idle. One on the top front of the carb, and the other in a diagonal facing block in the upper back of the carb.
Engine model # is J70ELCRD. Carb model # is 393196
Presently the High speed orifice is 56D on all 3 carbs.
Diagonal facing orifice is 59 on all 3 carbs.
The front top orifices are 68 top carb, 59 middle carb, and 67 bottom carb.
I am near sea leval.
I think high speeds should be 52D and am unsure of the rest.
Also is there a write up on the internal functioning and what each orifice does.
Thanks
