It seems there is some sort of problem with the Lower Units used on 40, 48 and 50 hp motors. Mine if fried. Contacted a remanufacturer of lower units, and they said they definitely had issues, and that they could sell one ever day if they had them, but as soon as they get one done, it is sold. Does anyone know of any retro mods that can be done to this unit, to make it last? ( I know my motor went through 2 lower units before I got it!)
