  • Performance question

i took my fathers bass boat out for a spin yesterday. It's an old Javelin with a 150 hp Johnson. After I planed it off, the boat noticeably leaned to the left but when I turned the wheel to the right it leveled off but of course went to the right. He has one of those large cavitation attachments on it which look like wings. Could that cause the leaning problem? It was quit difficult to navigate. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

Possibly just shift weight more evenly. Sounds like more weight is on port side?

    Good luck.

if you have it hauled out, check very carefully for cracks, holes etc. Sounds like it could be taking on water

        Performance problem

Just talked with my mechanic who was working on my pontoon and he said the problem with my dads boat was the large fin he attached to the bottom of the motor. He said to take it off and the problem will be solved. I'll repost as soon as I take it off and drive it.
