74 johnson 40 hp outboard upgrades

i just bought an 18 ft jj marine that came with a 1974 jonson 40 hp. the motors needs to be rebuilt and it came with everything to rebuild it , but i would like to get a little more hp out of the motor. can i put a bigger carb on it or something to get more power?

We don't make horsepower conversions here and not sure what would be needed.
