I have a 1978 15 hp and had both gears/shaft replaces with new ones ($$$)because they had worn so much they would jump out of place then I would have an engine running at half throttle with no way top slow it down, only by hitting the kill button. One of the teeth of the newgears broke of after running it a short time at a remote lake in Ontario of course. This happened when I had the handle up and brought it down. I run this engine at idle speeds at lot standing up with the tiller handle up. My first guess is that the gears where not spaced close enough together when installed. The gears are aluminum and I thought I saw somewhere that you can buy one of them made of nylon. Any thoughts on this. Thanks, JIM
