1997 3HP Won't Start

Hi,

I have a 1997 J3REUC that I bought new and probably has less than 10 hours on it. It has been sitting in my garage for 10 years, with no fuel in it. Tried to fire it up today for a trip next week and of course it won't start, not that I expected it to.
Could someone point me in the right direction as far as what I should check? i don't want to randomly start tearing it apart.

I'd pull plug check if wet or dry, this is after trying to start it with choke on, and after that I'd check spark, or carb, depending if plug is wet,or dry (dry =carb, wet = spark). Also keep water on foot anytime trying to start.

It's not unusual for the needle valve to stick shut after sitting up that long.

Your model also has a choke/fuel shut off valve, check your manual to make sure you are turning fuel on properly.
