I have a 1988 tiller steer 40 horse Johnson outboard with a lift assist trim/tilt. I would really like to upgrade to a power trim. my question is can I swap out a power trim unit for the lift assist using the same transom mounting plate and swing plate using the same transom mounting plate and swivel plate?? or is it two completely different mounts due to clearance issues. I hope I worded my question right, any help would be greatly appreciated.thank you
