  • 1997 200 ocean runner

hi all I bought a 1997 wellcraft 220 with a 1997 Johnson 200hp ocean runner on it last year and have a few problems id like to get fixed this spring ps power head was replaced in 2011 lower unit if fine also

1st is the fasttrack tilt/trim units seams to have bad seals as it leaks. wondering if I can get seals replaced or will I need whole new unit.

2nd anyone no what the WOT rpm should by for this motor .
.@ 5000 rpm im getting about 40 mph on gps .

3rd might also be part of #2 I need to push throdlle all the way to get up on plane it seams as if I have no middle range rpm .no hiccups and motor seams to run fine I replaced the fuel filters ,plugs, primer bulb (carbs where rebuilt when I bought it owner had to pay that repair

4th I got and engine alarm a few time last year as I was getting up on a plane it would go off after I backed down off plane it goes away. have plenty of oil and bulb is firm also it starts and runs like a champ
thanks for any and all help john

1st: Yes, you can get seals replaced on Fastrack tilt/trim.

2nd: WOT should be between 5000 and 5500. Not below or above either.

3rd: If you are barely getting 5000, you have too much pitch in your prop for your hull, which would perfectly explain the lack of middle range.

4th: Have you checked your motor to transom height? Do you know the age/condition of your water pump?

      thanks for the help
I going to get prop checked this spring and make sure its the right one for my boat.
also not sure of age of water pump but I have good flow and not to hot either.
motor to transom height not sure but it is the motor that came with the boat from brand new
      thank you again
