Mine is very rusted. Looking to replace soon, it is a 25'' shaft and it appears brand new there are $700.00. Just looking for a decent used one.

Looks like it might be a job for my mechanic, but I do not want to pay that for the part. Love the engine, runs strong, cranks up fine.

Your best bet is to go on Craigslist and look in cities in places like Wisc, ILL, MINN, etc, someplace where no motor could have ever seen the coast. We used to toss these pieces in the scrap bin. Up in the MidWest, they probably still do.....
