I have a 1975 Johnson 85ESL75. When cold starting the auto choke appears to engage (I checked it visually) however the motor will not start. When I pull the cowling and engage the manual choke the motor starts readily. Once started the motor runs great and needs no additional manual choking when warm.
Just wondering if anyone else has encountered a similar problem or has any suggestions. Pulling the cowling isn't difficult just inconvenient.
I tried searching this forum and others on-line without success.
