I have a 1976 25 hp Johnson that usually starts up fine cold but will die out in a min.or so,or I can run it to my first fishin spot then it will start hard or not start.once I did get it started leaving my first fishin spot it bogged randomly at high speed.it would bog then pick back up by itself.the primer bulb is not getting hard and I can hear air going into the tank when squeezing it

i have the same problem with the engine cutting out at full speed--seems to run ok at 3/4 speed. its a 77 25hp. i have changed plugs( old were not fouled)
checked fuel filter and all connections are tight, no leaks.primer bulb collapsed
but again ran fine at lower speeds. need some help!! could the problem be fuel? i didnt measure the oil that close. low octane gas? carb adjustment? i just bought the boat and motor so dont have any manuals or past history.
any and all suggestions appricrated. thanks merlyn -
