I'm probably late to the party but here goes! Power Trim/Tilt...Tilt works fine Trim works but is noisy. Is this the motor? Checked fluid level...seems to be proper(@ res. hole with tilt all-the-way up per Johnson book). Seems to be noisy on the way down & almost silent on the way up & sounds normal in tilt. Stuck a "Q-tip" in hole...fluid is red & looks clear(not milky or brown)

It will have a different sound when in trim range, hard to say without hearing it if in the pump or in the motor. -
Don't know if this helps but it's kind of a "klicking" sound like the impeller is ticking off something in trim. Could there be a lubrication problem with the tilt ram? Would I find a zerk fitting in that area?Comment

My first thought was to spray breakfree on trim ram seals thinking they might be dry.Comment

Try putting a dab of grease on end of short trim rams where contacts outboard bracket to eliminate popping noise.Comment
