Is it OK to run engine without a thermostat?
I was told by the mechanic it was fine as he has lost engines due to bad ones. He is adamant about using a full synthetic Amsoil, Royal Purple etc. I currently use Pennzoil syn blend TCW3 2 cycle. He just rebuilt everything on the engine as I smoked a cylinder from carbs to the lower unit seals. Yes I trust him. Just looking for addition info from other sources.
