1999 Johnson 25HP Idle Issue

Hi - My 1999 25HP Johnson (2-cylinder) was bogging down under power (half throttle or above) so I cleaned out the carb, twice, and voila, now it runs smooth. Mission accomplished - almost.

Now it is idling rough, and sputters and dies if left unattended at minimum throttle. A little gas or a squirt from the choke will revive it. Anything above minimum throttle and she runs great.

What did I do? Did I not put the carb back together right? Or do I need to adjust a low-speed jet or idle screw? Anyone know where it is on a 1999 25HP? I've managed to lose the manual and can't find a schematic online.

Also, what about the idle adjustment knob on the tiller handle?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Could be bad nozzle gasket inside carb, low speed adjustment screw out of adjustment, bad intake gasket or linkage out of sync.

Put it in water and adjust a 1/4 turn at a time to get to idle better.
