I have a 1994 javelin with a 1994 johnson 120 and been trying to get my tachometer to work. It will work some times and some times not, as soon as it does work and i give it some fuel it will go to about 2500 rpms and dies out. I have replaced the rpm gauge with another and no change i thought at first, I might have a bad ground but no clue to where i need to look at. I have read the rectifier could be the problem so i have ordered a new one of those are they anything i can try other than what i have to cross off the list i know at wot i am running 40 mph if that where it should be i have a 18 javelin 377A boat thanks for any help.
