2006 Johnson 90 hp saltwater edition

Hope I can get some help. My 2006 90 hp is having trouble with hitching and missing between 4.5 and 5.5 (wot). This motor is attached to a 22' pontoon boat and is working fine at lower speeds and idle. I have tried holding in choke and also squeezing the bulb to the tank while running full throttle but neither seems to give enough gas at a sustainable level to make it run smoothly. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated. Fuel pump? Points? I have no clue. Thanks!

Use a timing light to see if one or more cylinders are misfiring.
