How come no tranny bolt holes ?

I'm soo happy with finding this 04 loop charged Johnny. My trouble is it goes on my vintage 17 Mako and there is no accomodarion for the bottom tranny bolt. The hold motor had a threaded hole in the right spot. Do I drill and tap a new one ?

Newer motors don't have the threaded hole in transom bracket use the bottom slotted holes for mounting on boat.

Thanks, I figured that out. I would have drilled new holes in the tranny but that would put them below the waterline. What I did was drill and tap the new motor. Didn't want to but the casting has meat where it needs to be (same as the old one) after a lot of in and out with the tap and much cutting oil, I got it.
Anyone want to buy my 1997 SPL ?
