Yes I was so fortunate to find this for my vintage 17 Mako ! My initial quandary is mounting it, the bolt hole spread on the tranny is not far enough apart top to bottom to catch, yet the oem 1994 Evinrude seems to have the same spread ?

I'm not going to use the vro, which wires do I disconnect ?

Best practices for break in ?

    Thanks.

Disconnect VRO pump sensor and remote oil tank wiring to engine. Use double oil mix during breakin.

There is only 1 wire harness going to VRO, follow wire from remote oil tank to engine and disconnect.

If your Johnny won't fit your tranny holes, then check to see if your tranny was drilled to match the alternate bottom mounting holes in your Johnny.

Otherwise, get the bottom holes filled in your tranny and then get your drilly and drill new lower holes in your tranny to match either the standard location or the alternate hole location.

Don't forget to use a good grade of marine sealer on and around bolts.
