Hello, First let me say im very new to boating.. so if i asked a very stupid question sorry about it.. i have tried the search but cant get it to work. did all it said but still wont work. we just brought a pontoon with a 2000 - 70 hp Johnson motor. the guy we got it from said he did away with the oil injector and the gas has to be mixed. he just did this right before we got the boat. the prime ball will not stay hard. the boat will not run at a low speed, it just dies. after doing a lot of reading its sounding like we need to change the fuel pump.. is this correct. also the prime ball is not vertical with the arrow pointing up.. it lays on its side, should this be changed around.. thanks for any help.... steve

If can keep it running by pumping primer bulb then may need a new fuel pump, if primming doesn't help then need to remove and clean carbs. Primer bulb just primes carbs with gas and nothing else, doesn't matter if lays flat.
