I have a 1999 225 HP Evinrude model E225FDXEED Serial number G04696627.
The motor had sat for over a year, and the current status that it will run for approximately one hour then stop. Sometimes it will alarm an error, and sometimes not. Error codes are 18 27 37. The motor will restart, but then shut off after 10 to 20 minutes progressively shorter runtime once the problem has surfaced. Have changed the fuel filters, fuel supply, and measured the Fuel pressure ( 25 PSI with key on, and 30 PSI while running). The fuel pressure was monitored while engine shut off happened and PSI never dropped just went to 20 PSI when motor was stopped.
Motor runs quiet and smooth no signed of misfiring. When I had it at 3500 RPM the motor surged, and paused a couple of times then shut off. Motor runs cool, water coming out isn’t hot, and you can touch the power head. Only 340 hours on the motor, and would like to get some use out of it.

Looking for some guidance as to whether I’m experiencing EMM problems.

Please provide any recommendations if this isn’t an EMM problem.

Clean water out of fuel, check wire connections, battery cables are clean and tight. Check all grounds on engine
