Johnson 2000 90hp lower unit question

Hi all,
Lots of good info here!
My motor (rj90plsse) recently overheated so I decided to tackle the problem myself. All went according to plan, removed all bolts, clip and disengaged shift shaft. Slide off the leg next? Nope, it moved less than half an inch.
Does it need some "persuasion"?

Make sure shift shaft is disconnected and all bolts are removed, if so then will have to put some pressure on it.

I have a Johnson 115 HP. I recently replaced the water pump and notice a lot of wobble in drive shaft -is this normal?
