Hello,
I have a question. I have a 2000 150HP outboard that I was prepping / masking prior to painting the exhaust housing and lower unit. I though it would be easy to remove the bolts (item 2 below) securing the mounting bracket cover (item 1 below) rather than mask them. Well turns out they are pretty seized up and I broke one off after a turn or two. My question is... Is there really any load on those covers? Is three bolts sufficient to hold them and the rubber mount in place. Should I worry about 1 broken bolt?
