This is driving me nuts. When the engine is ran at 4000 rpm or below all is fine. AT WOT (5000+ rpm) the fuel restriction alarm goes off; the engine hunts/surges and sometimes dies. Sometimes the primer ball is empty and sometimes it's still firm (go figure). All hoses clear of obstructions and no kinks that I can see. The fuel filter is clean too. What could cause the fuel restriction vacuum switch to close and sound the alarm? Could this be a bad vapor tank float adjustment?

Check the anti-siphon valve at gas tank(hose barb fitting that connects hose to gas tank pickup), probably needs to be replaced.

1993 150 sputters only WOT
Anti siphon valve all hoses free and clear. I torn the entire fuel system apart and found several fuel bowl needle valves were bound between the float and the bowl body thus now there all pointing at the center draw tube, one carb to throttle body gasket questionable, and a portion of the throttle body gasket to intake manifold was missing a 1/4" piece of the seal thus air is getting in. This is probably what is causing the sneezing at idle. Opened up the fuel pump and found the piston shaft between the fuel and pulse air from engine not secured well and tightened it back up. This may be the source of vacuum alarm. Also found gunk on the optical oil sensor. The pump passed pressure tests as best I can with the service manual. The next thing once I get the new parts in is to vacuum test the fuel system starting at the switch which alarmed a 6.5/7 pounds vacuum. Ordered parts to repair to see if all that I found fixed the problem. Thoughts?
