I am looking purchasing a 1998 Johnson 40hp model #J40TTLECR that from what I can tell was originally a tiller and was converted over to a remote set up. The tiller handle assembly is still in place but does not look to be hooked up. My application requires a tiller set up so my question is would this be a major issue to hook the tiller handle assembly back up so I can run it as a tiller. Would it be expensive for the parts and would this be something I would need a mechanic handle? Thx

probably will have to get someone to look at it and see whats parts are missing.

I changed mine back
I had one that was similar, a 15 horse that had been converted to remote. In my case I took off the cover, disconnected the Throttle and Shift remote cables, and hooked up the throttle cable from the tiller. I thought it would have been harder.
