Carbs

I have a 1980 Johnson 85 HP, the Primer Solenoid is not attached to the 2 carbs , they do not have the nec. nipples, they have a 1 3/16 bore, I also have a set of carbs from a 150 hp which has a 1 5/16 bore but they have the solenoid nipples, can I put them on my 85 and reroute the distribution hoses. I believe the carbs are off an Evenrude. The hoses now run from the check valves to the bypass covers, tho 2 are routed from the solenoid to bypass cover so fuel is being delivered to the bypass covers. was this a factory setup in lieu of the choke or have the carbs just being bypassed because of a lack of the nipples? Any assistance would be awesome.

Never tried it but may not be able to get 150 carbs to run a 85 engine very good.
