J70vlsis fuel primer solenoid

Have 70 Johnson to start I have to open cowling and turn red knob on solenoid assy primer 1/4 turn .motor starts right up I then turn 1/4 back motor run all day even stopping and starting motor only have to do on first start .not sure bad solenoid or if it could be something else

Check that have 12 volts to wire at primer when push ignition key in, if do replace primer.

I check no power at primer when I push and turn key

Then have bad key switch or a bad wire. Test it had switch.
