I just repowered my bass boat with a 1998 Johnson Ocean Pro. I put new throttle and shift cables on it along with a new control box. With the cables disconnected from the engine, they throttle lever is smooth and easy to move. When I connect the shifter level, it is still smooth and easy to move. But when I connect the throttle, the lever is very difficult to move. I have sprayed all the linkages with lube and there really isn't any changes to the force required to move the throttle lever. Any thoughts on what I need to be looking for would be appreciated.
