  • '95 Johnson 50hp no spark

Got my 50 Johnson out this weekend and can't get it to fire. Turns over great and appears to be getting fuel to the cylinders. Put in new gas, tried new plugs and a little fuel in each cylinder. It doesn't even offer to bust off. Tried looking for spark, can't seem to locate any at all. Kill switch is in place. Would it be worth it to try to pull the magneto and clean the magnets with emory cloth? Is that magneto keyed or does it have to be timed? Motor hasn't been cranked in over a year. Last ran with stabil and drained - kept covered in a shed. Suggestions appreciated. Thanks

Cleaning magnets probably not going to help. Going to need a peak reading voltmeter to test ignition to see what part has failed, test output voltage of charge coil, sensor coils and CDI output to coils.
