1977 175hp Johnson Outboard

Runs great when idleing. put in gear and give power and it will run real slow or if you try to accelerate it dies. Two new power packs and rectifier did not help. rebuilt carbs still the same. trying to decide what to do next?
Should I replace all six coils?
Should I replace upper and lower fuel pumps?

Try bumping choke to see if will help it accelerate.

Yes , when I bump choke it regains power and goes great. What do you think?

crankcase seal

i had the same problem the upper crank case seal was bad and it iddle fine but when i hit the gas it died try that good luck
